SEASON 38 BEGINS!

Posted by tb on May 2nd, 2024

The 38'th season of California League Baseball is underway! In Columbus, the defending champion Outlaws flexed their power on Thursday, hitting five homers as they cruised to an 8-4 win over Vancouver.

Meanwhile in San Antonio, the new look San Fernando Tigers came to town to start the season. Last year, the Tigers lost their first 18 games en route to a dead last finish. This year, the expectations are higher, and the Tigers did not disappoint as Corbin Carroll went 4-5 with a three-run shot as San Fernando cruised to an 8-1 opening day win.

OUTLAWS FIRST TO SIX RINGS, 2023 CHAMPIONS!

Posted by tb on November 9th, 2023

The Ohio Outlaws are one of the more storied franchises in league history. Ohio won four of the first five league championships and added another in 1998, but it has been a long drought since then. The Outlaws have come close, but fell short several times.

For Ohio, it took an incredible effort from Austin Riley to put them back on top. It is fitting for the Outlaws that it was Riley's fifth inning solo shot that broke a 4-4 tie and wound up being the series-clinching hit.

Riley had one of the most, if not the most, dominating World Series performance in league history going 12-17 (.706 with four doubles, four homers and 15 RBI to go along with a 1.647 OPS.

For Mark Bloch, it his first championship since taking over the Outlaws in 2004. Ohio becomes the first team to six World Series Championship. Huge congrats to Mark!

Congratulations as well to Mike for a great regular season, being the only team with 100+ wins.

Give the league office until the second Satruday of December to relax and free agent claims will resume. See you in the Spring and GO BUCKS, BEAT MICHIGAN

RILES STAYS RED HOT, OUTLAWS ONE WIN AWAY

Posted by tb on November 8th, 2023

In case you didn't know, Austin Riley is red hot. Riley followed up his two homer, 6 RBI Game 3 with 2-3 performance including another homer and another 5 runs batted in as the Outlaws cruised to another big win over Kansas City.

The 11-0 win puts Ohio in firm control of the series with three games to one lead as they seek their first title since 1998.

If the T-Bones are to win the series, they must find a way to quiet Riley who is 9-13 with 4 homers and 14 runs batted in through the first four games of the World Series.

RILEY POWERS OHIO AGAIN

Posted by tb on November 7th, 2023

Austin Riley continued his quest for World Series MVP with a 3-4 showing including two homers and six RBI in Ohio's 10-2 win over Kansas City. T-Bones starter Clayton Kershaw was chased from the game after allowing seven runs over 2 2/3.

Riley is not 7-10 with three homers and nine RBI through three games. Ohio leads the series two games to one with Game 4 set for Wednesday.

KC TAKES GAME 2

Posted by tb on November 6th, 2023

Bailey Ober pitched a game, allowing just three hits in a complete game shutout and Kyle Schwarber broke Ohio's back with a three-run blast as the T-Bones beat the Outlaws, 4-0 to tied the World Series at a game apiece.

The resumes Tuesday in Ohio after a travel day on Monday.

RILEY POWERS OHIO TO GAME ONE WIN

Posted by TB on November 4th, 2023

Game one of the 2023 California League World Series was all Ohio on Saturday. Austin Riley started off the scoring with a two-run blast in the second. Kansas City tied it up in the bottom of the inning scoring twice.

The game remained tied until Riley struck again with an RBI double in the top of the fifth which put Ohio up for good.

Game one goes to Ohio, 7-2, with game two tomorrow.

OUTlAWS SURVIVE AND ADVANCE TO WORLD SERIES

Posted by tb on November 1st, 2023

For the Redondo Beach Sharkz to win Game 7, they would need a great performance out of Aaron Judge who entered the game with just one hit in the series. The great news for Redondo Beach is they got that game from Aaron who went 3-4 with a solo shot in the ninth.

The bad news is, the suporting cast didn't help and it was Jose Altuve who put the game on ice with a two-run blast in the eighth which sent Ohio to the World Series.

And so the World Series is set. The Kansas City T-Bones and Ohio Outlaws will square off in a re-match of the 2012 World Series which saw KC win the first of it's two franchise championships.

The Outlaws are looking for their sixth championship, which would put them atop the League Record Books and first since 1998. This will be the sixth World Series appearance for the Outlaws since that '98 season and first since 2017.

The World Series will begin Saturday night
