NANOOKS FORCE GAME 5

Posted by tb on October 20th, 2024

Once down two games to none in the best of five series, the Nanooks rallied for a huge Game Three win on Friday and on Sunday, they got an incredible outing from Kutter Crawford who overcame a two-run shot by Shohei Ohtani as Vancouver downed Redondo Beach, 5-2 to force a deciding game 5.

The series shifts back to California in a loser goes home game on Tuesday.

JONES SAVES SEASON FOR VANCOUVER

Posted by tb on October 18th, 2024

With the Nanooks on the brink of elimination, they needed a hero to keep their season going. Nolan Jones answered that call and answered it in a huge way with 4-6, 3 HR, RBI performance in Vancouver's big 14-3 win over Redondo Beach. The series resumes Saturday or Sunday for Game 4 with the Sharkz leading the best of 5 series 2-1.

Sorry, league office has things going on back home that are delaying games a bit this weekend, but we will try to get scores up Saturday.

VANCOUVER PUSHED TO BRINK

Posted by tb on October 15th, 2024

Juan Soto, Aaron Judge and CJ Abrams each hit solo homers and Merrill Kelly pitched a gem allowing no runs on just two hits over seven shutout innings as the Sharkz blanked Vancouver 5-0 Tuesday. The win puts Redondo Beach in a commanding two gamaes to none lead in the best of fives series.

The series shifts to Vancouver on Thursday, with the Nanooks needing to win the next three games to avoid elimination.

OHTANI LEADS SHARKZ TO GAME ONE WIN

Posted by tb on October 14th, 2024

Shohei Ohtani became the first player in league history on Friday to register a win and hit a home run in a playoff game. Ohtani fanned ten batters over 5 1/3 while his first inning two-run homer got the scoring going for the Sharkz.

Redondo Beach leads the best of five series 1-0 with the series resuming on Tuesday.

REGULAR SEASON ENDS....ON TO THE PLAYOFFS WE GO

Posted by tb on October 10th, 2024

Needing a win or New York Knight loss to clinch, the Nanooks failed to secure their own destiny dropping a 3-0 contest to Kansas City. All eyes then turned to New York, where the Knights where hosting the Sharkz on the final regular season day.

Needing a win to force a three-game playoff, the Knights fell behind early following a two-run blast in the first and never really recovered after that giving up six more runs in an 8-2 loss.

The playoffs will commence on Monday where the Sharkz and Nanooks will face off in a best of five wild card round, with the winner advancing to face the Tigers. Ohio and Kansas City will square off in the other first round series following the conclusion of the wild card round.

WITH ONE TO GO, POTENTIAL FOR THREE-WAY TIE EXISTS

Posted by tb on October 9th, 2024

With one game left in the regular season, the Nanooks won, which meant New York had to win or face elimination. With the Knights down and almost out, they came up with a five-run eighth inning which temporarily salvaged their season and kept them a game behind.

A Vancouver win, will eliminate the Knights.....but a Vancouver loss, coupled with a New York win over Redondo Beach would create a nightmare scenario for the league, with three teams tied for the final wild card spot.

VANCVOUER HOLDS SERVE. TWO TO GO

Posted by tb on October 8th, 2024

Good news for New York: They snuck past Redondo Beach, 3-2 Tuesday. Bad news: Vancouver also won, which kept them outside the playoff picture. With two games to go, Vancouver holds a ever so slim 1 game lead as the two teams close out the year with what amount to must-win games.

NANOOKS PULL AHEAD

Posted by tb on October 7th, 2024

With three games to go, the Nanooks pulled ahead of the Knights on Monday in the race for the final wild card spot.

NANOOKS AND KNIGHTS GOING DOWN TO THE WIRE

Posted by tb on October 6th, 2024

With four games to go, the New York Knights and Vancouver Nanooks are tied for the final wild card spot. Each team will complete the final game of their current three game series on Monday and then the Knights will end the season with three games against the Wild Hogs, while Vancouver will square off against the last place Smokers.

NOTE: TODAY IS THE LAST SIGNING PERIOD UNTIL THE FIRST SUNDAY IN DECEMBER
