WITT HELP'S TIGERS TO WIN.....MOVE ON HORIZON?

Posted by tb on July 22nd, 2024

Bobby Witt 2-5 and drove in three on a bases-clearing double that capped a seven-run fifth in San Fernando's 7-6 win over San Antonio.

Meanwhile, sources close to the Tigers have indicated they are closing in on a deal that they hope will propel them to their first title since 1990.

OUTLAWS TAKE SERIES AS WE REACH HALF-WAY POINT

Posted by tb on July 21st, 2024

Yordan Alvarez crushed a three-run blast and Shane McLanahan went seven shutout innings as the Outlaws cruised past the Tigers, 5-1

In a series that was crucial to the Ohio Outlaws if they had any vision of claiming the top spot in the league, Ohio wound up winning 2 of the three games to take the series and move to within seven games.

With exactly 81 games played, the Tigers are on pace to exceed the 100 win mark for the first time in franchise history, which dates back to 1985.

OHTANI DOES IT ALL

Posted by tb on July 20th, 2024

On the mound, Shohei Ohtani went seven, allowed two runs on five hits while fanning ten, while in the box he went 3-4, knocked one out of the park and drove in 3 (one being the game-winning walk-off single) in a big win for the Sharkz

TIGERS POUNCE ON OUTLAWS

Posted by tb on July 19th, 2024

Kyle Tucker's grand slam highlighted a seven-run second and Vlad Guerrero chipped in with three RBI as the Tigers cruised past the Outlaws, 14-3 in the first of three between the top two teams in the league.

Meanwhile, the suddenly hot Smokers won their third straight game and are now 8-2 over their last ten as they are closing in on joining the playoff picture.

OHTANI HEADS WEST IN HUGE DEAL

Posted by tb on July 11th, 2024

Shohei Ohtani has been dealt and has one Southern California team smiling and another in disbelief in a blockbuster deal over night Wednesday. With their neighbors to the north having a comfortable 8 game lead for the best overall record and looking like an imposing playoff contender, it was the Redondo Beach Sharkz who swooped in and acquired the slugger in an eye towards 2025.

The Sharkz sent Paul Skeens (and Lilly Dunne), Wyatt Langford and Riley Greene to San Antonio for the slugger. The 2025 lineup for the Sharkz will likely have the AL and NL home run leaders back-to-Back in Judge and Ohtani along with Bryce Harper and crew.

Meanwhile, their neighbors to the north, who are looking at the next few seasons as a window to win were hoping to add Ohtani to their lineup and apparently, were willing to move up to 14 top 100 prospects, including 4 in the top 10 for the slugger, but never had a chance to counter or hear back. “Disappointed, but it’s life. We feel that while Skeens is a great talent, the track record of pitchers simply indicates you have to expect him to blow out his arm at some point and miss a year+. Hopefully, that doesn’t happen, but it just seems that is the odds in today’s game. We absolutely think we had more to offer, but I guess we didn’t take into account the Lilly Dunne factor…..we don’t have a Lilly lying around.”

The Sharkz fired a massive shot over the bow of the San Fernado Tigers in what might signal the start of an arms race for the two Southern California teams. As Darth Sidious said, “Soon, I will have a new apprentice, one far younger and more powerful……it’s not over.” Time will tell who that player might be or if they can pry him loose, but if anyone has the prospect pool with which to pull it off, it would be the Tigers.

Stay tuned.

OHTANI ON THE MOVE?

Posted by tb on July 10th, 2024

Following Wednesday's action, rumors began to swirl that Wild Hogs slugger Shohei Ohtani was close to being dealt. Nothing official and we don't know who might be narrowing in on the slugger, but it appears that he's headed to the West Coast and has one organization smiling and another wondering what happened. Stay tuned...

5 RUN THIRD GET'S OHIO A NEEDED WIN

Posted by tb on July 9th, 2024

Pete Alonso hit two homers for the Marauders his 25 and 26'th of the year, but it was Yordan Alvarez' 20'th homerun of the year that helped secure the win for Ohio as part of a five-run third inning.
